About Maxine Phelan

Timeline:

1942 - Maxine Phelan was born on December 5th. She was the first of her siblings to be born in a hospital.

1961 - Maxine Phelan graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School.

1965 - Maxine Phelan graduated from the University of Houston where she majored in English and Education.

1971 - Maxine Phelan began teaching English at Lamar Consolidated High School. She retired from teaching in 2003.

2022 - Maxine Phelan was awarded the key to the city and April 30th was declared as Maxine Phelan Day.
