What can students do to take care of their books?
Students should keep their books in their backpacks or in a safe place where the books are easy to find.
Students should keep liquids and food away from library books at all times. Library books should not be put in backpacks with water bottles or other liquids.
Students should not write or color in their library books. They also should not allow younger siblings to write or color in their library books.
What happens if a student loses or damages a book?
If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, it must be paid for. The librarian will notify the you if a Lost/Damaged fee has been placed on your child's account. Payment should be in exact cash (change cannot be made). Send the payment to school in a sealed envelope marked "Attention Library." Payment is refundable if a lost book is found and returned in good condition within one year from the date the fee was paid. Please keep in mind that library books have a special binding that makes them more expensive than regular books.
