Principal Mylanda Broussard leads the Knights at Phelan Elementary. With 23 years of experience in education, including 13 years in Lamar CISD, Mrs. Broussard has served in a variety of impactful roles, including teacher, English as a Second Language Campus Coach, District Emergent Bilingual Specialist, District Early Childhood Facilitator, Texas Reading Academies Cohort Leader, Assistant Principal, and now Principal. A graduate of Florida State University and the University of Houston–Victoria, Mrs. Broussard brings a strong commitment to academic excellence, student growth, and equitable learning opportunities for all students. She is a devoted wife and mother of three. Two of her children are graduates of Lamar CISD, and one currently attends school in the district she proudly serves. Her leadership reflects a personal connection to the students, staff, and families of the Phelan community.
